Kristin Bråten owns and runs Galleri Riis in Oslo with Espen Ryvarden. Kristin lives at Ola Narr in the east of Oslo, just by the old Munch Museum at Tøyen. Not that this is really relevant to these notes… But there is the location.

Galleri Riis exhibition program includes leading Scandinavian artists such as Paul Osipow, Jan Groth, Olav Christopher Jenssen, Admit Batlak, Eline Mugaas  and Håvard Homstvedt as well as established international names like Hamish Fulton, Marijke van Warmerdam and Daido Moriyama.

Kristin’s walls are a continuation of the ever changing gallery walls and exhibition space in Arbins gate, but at home, -she can play with all the artworks and place them in an altogether new context with no interference from the artists. There is one image however, which stays permanent, Tom Sandbergs black and white iconic photograph of her own foot in a slinky high heel hidden underneath a table.
